Katy Bar The Door

July 5, 2008

I came back to Rainbow Beach to write because things HAD to change for me…I felt like words were just turning into words on the page when I started to tell my stories and that isn’t me…

it was like some evil Pod Person had taken over the Write Part of my brain…

And then one day ( I think it was last Tuesday ) this song ( which I consider my own personal theme song ) came up on a tape I was listening to as I sat in front of my computer losing yet ANOTHER game of ” Hangman “ .

Well, don’t you know that after hearing it and downing a few Margaritas  a little seed sort of took root in my brain

Well, to be honest I was feeling a bit put out up to the song part  because I sort of got booted out writing group for being, you know me .

Okay, I didn’t get booted out- I just felt a little reckless and wild and in my  own writing that wasn’t exactly the mood there.

So I made tracks.

And then, just as I felt my mood turning ugly I find this in an e-mail attachment:

and I thought…

darn it I just HAVE to have some fun- I want to laugh when I write again…which has not been something I have recently  been able to do with much ease.

So I headed for Rainbow Beach…

where the Haunted Drive In was waiting for me, where the Beach and my friends and a few very odd and strange people were ready to tell some great stories and sing a little and swap some jokes.

So, exactly who are the Muses that haunt the Beach- what kind of force could grab me by my collar and snap me back into shape?

I figure some of us see them as Women Who Run With Wolves…a few of us see a skinny guy with funny hair but hey, Inspiration is Inspiration no matter what form it may take.

The important thing is you go with it

What I know is that  the Muses dance like crazy here at Rainbow Beach

…and I intend to join them every chance I get.

So Katy Bar The Door.

I’m back

  1. Oh Anita Marie, I’m hanging out here too on Rainbow Beach waiting for the Muses to come pay a visit and lead me back to the Land of Fun and Frolics, aka the Realms of L’Enchanteur. But wow your multi media presentation of seeking the inner voices is superb!!

  2. Hey…anything I can do to create a little havoc I mean inspiration is time I consider well spent Edith.

So jump on in…it’s not like you can make a mistake.
Plus I’m pretty sure that only a few of us are joking about drinking and blogging..so you know-

    ENJOY!

  3. Just a couple of things – you wouldn’t have that email dude’s phone number, would you? He’s kind of cute…and like Groucho Marx, you shouldn’t belong to any group that would have you as a member anyway.
    Hic.

  11. Hey AMM,
Glad to hear you’re back at the beach. You’re far too funky and fun to be in a writing group…unless you were teaching it.
Just wanted to let you know that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has finally come to it’s senses and is screening the 2007 series of the good Dr. I LOVE Sunday nights!
I’ll try to sneak away from my boys and join you all for some fun.
    Hugs
